Let's challenge ourselves!
So, I'm gonna try something new try grow in ability and you all are welcome and encouraged
to join me. ^^ What better way to learn than to try new things. Illustrators, by definition, should be able
to draw anything
. That doesn't mean they have to enjoy
drawing everything, but it means they can
if they need to.
So let's start with a relatively simple one. This week's challenge is to
draw an outdoor scene with a character of your choice (fan or original) with a simple background and foreground.
While everyone knows what a background is, a foreground overlaps the middle and background and often allows the audience or viewer to feel more a part of the scene rather than just 'looking at a picture'. Foreground can act as a framing device, creating interesting shapes that draw the viewer in toward the main focus, in this case the scene. The character can be prominent or can be small in contrast to the background. It is up to you. ^^
This challenge will run from Sat Dec 16 until Sat Dec 23 PST.
That means we have a week. Post a link here to your piece if you wish to participate, and tell me a little bit about your planning and drawing process. Since I am aware that we're all busy with our various daily tasks, anything from a simple sketch to a full blown painting is acceptable. It's up to you. If you would like any help or suggestions throughout the week, feel free to post an inquiry.
I look forward to see what you come up with! ^^
